Iron Status and Female Reproductive Health: From Fertility to Preconception Care

This program examines the vital, yet frequently overlooked, role of iron metabolism across a woman’s reproductive lifecycle, from menarche through fertility and preconception care. Clinicians will analyze how occult or overt iron deficiency impairs ovulatory function, oocyte quality, and early placental development, negatively impacting reproductive success. The curriculum provides evidence-based guidelines for rigorous screening, accurate interpretation of iron panels, and targeted repletion strategies to optimize both maternal wellness and fetal outcomes.
